Events - Event View

This is a 3.0 mile total paddle of about 4.5 hours. We will meet up at Shellmound, enjoy a potluck picnic (TVCC will bring some BBQ), then paddle across the TN River to the famous Nickajack Bat Cave and watch the bats emerge for their nightly rounds.

An alternate put-in is available for families and others that don't want the excitement of crossing the TN River at night. The alternate put-in would be less than 1-mile total round trip.

ALL paddlers will need a 360-degree light for the night paddle to meet USCG and TN TWRA requirements.

Please note: all times are shown as Eastern Time Zone based on Chattanooga. The cave/Shellmound are located in Central Time. If you drive from the Chattanooga area, plan about 45-min to 1-hour drive time to the location.

Details will be sent to all registered paddlers 2 days prior to the trip.
