TVCC is more than just a paddling club — we're a community that thrives because of passionate volunteers who step up to lead. Serving on the Board is your chance to make an impact, help grow the paddling community, gain valuable leadership experience, and connect with like-minded paddlers. Treasurer

Board of Directors

President

Leads all Club meetings, acts as the main spokesperson with external organizations, oversees Club activities, and serves on all committees (except Board nominations). Manages crisis communications and responds to media inquiries if needed. Occasionally writes columns for Club social media.

Vice President

Leads the planning and execution of Paddle School and fills in for the President when needed.

Assistant Vice President

Supports the Vice President with organizing, planning, and running Paddle School.

Secretary

Keeps and posts meeting minutes, manages Club records, collects mail, maintains membership lists and directories, and helps with registration for Club activities. Sends reminders to lapsed members and keeps the electronic membership directory and handbook current.

Treasurer

Handles collection, deposit, and disbursement of Club funds; manages member dues with the Secretary; prepares the annual budget; keeps financial records; provides regular financial updates; manages Club insurance; files state and federal forms; and fills in for the Secretary if needed.

Safety Officer

Plans safety training events like Swiftwater Rescue and the Rescue Rodeo, shares safety policies with members, writes safety articles for social media, and maintains the Club’s medical kits.

Training Officer

Manages the Club's Forest Service permit and training scholarship program, tracks instructor certifications, coordinates training opportunities, and ensures Trip Leaders follow Club safety policies.

Competition Officer

Plans and runs Club-sponsored races, organizes the event after-party benefiting a Board-chosen organization, coordinates event safety with the Safety Officer, and ensures Club equipment is returned after the event.

Conservation Officer

Keeps members informed on environmental issues, organizes river cleanups, and writes conservation-related articles for social media.

Cruise Master

Schedules monthly river and non-river activities, ensures trip leaders follow safety policies, collects waivers, and submits trip reports after each outing.

IT Officer

Maintains Club IT systems and website, manages online platforms, supports Board members with tech needs, and ensures digital security.

Communications Officer

Develops and oversees Club communications strategy, manages content on social media platforms, assists officers with content, works with the media, and ensures all published content aligns with Club policies.

Social Chair

Organizes and executes non-paddling social events, coordinates food and entertainment for major Club events, and works with vendors for catering services.

Quartermaster

Manages and tracks all Club-owned equipment and storage locations, keeps an up-to-date inventory, inspects and determines the repair or disposal of assets, and coordinates with the Treasurer and Safety Officer.

Volunteer Coordinator

Works with event coordinators to determine volunteer needs, helps advertise volunteer opportunities, and organizes volunteer schedules for Club events.
