Chattanooga Area Blueways (Updated: December 2024)

This interactive map (Google-based) starts 50 miles upstream of Ross's Landing on the Tennessee River.  Tributaries are added as it heads downstream to 70 miles past Ross's Landing in Stevenson, AL. Several other blueways in the area are also listed. The miles shown on tributaries start at their mouth and go upstream. If you look at Graysville Dam on the S Chickamauga Creek it shows 19.8 miles. If you go downstream to Camp Jordan 2 it shows 12.8 miles. 19.8-12.8 = 7 miles to paddle between the two access points.

DISCLAIMER:  All Class I blueways have current and obstacles which adds risk. They are considered clear if you can paddle them without having to get out of your boat. If you don't know what a strainer is you probably shouldn't be on a Class I blueway. No one is responsible for keeping the blueways clear of blockages. It's up to volunteers to fix blockages. Try to clear a 4 foot section through the blockage. The links to the water level gauges are included and should be checked before paddling. Everyone is responsible for their own safety.
