Paddle GA Support Boater Volunteers Needed

What is Paddle GA?
Paddle GA is a major event of the Georgia Rivers organization, a partner paddle group of TVCC. This is their 20th Annual Paddle GA paddle-a-thon with approx. 300-400 paddlers expected. It is a 7-Day/ 80 mile paddle through 3 States! It begins in Ringgold GA on S. Chickamauga Creek on June 15th, ends June 22nd at Crow Creek WMA, near Stevenson, AL, just off the Tennessee River. TVCC is supporting Paddle GA
We are conducting scouting and creek maintenance operations in the weeks prior to the event. Most importantly we will help by providing safety support boaters at key locations along the S. Chick.

Good deal for helping : All volunteers will receive a free "Paddle GA 2025" T-shirt and a free sack lunch courtesy of Paddle GA!

Support Boat Volunteers :
June 16 & June 17: There several sections of the S. Chick at different days and times that need watchful eyes to help flotilla members navigate shoals and other navigational challenges. Specific locations are TBD and will be determined by the final scouting runs in early June. Depending on the number of volunteers we can recruit, the duty time of any one volunteer will be reduced. We are looking for enough volunteers that would allow work shifts to be approx. 4-5 hrs max. The potential for a long day does exist at some locations, from approx. 8 am to 4pm. A flexible registration option exists to volunteer for either day and time that lets us place you where and when we need volunteers the most. This helps a lot.

Special Volunteer Activity :
June 10-13: We need volunteers to help build the portage crossing structure over the sewer pipe behind the Chattanooga Airport on the S. Chick. The exact date of the build is TBD as it is weather and other circumstances dependent. If you volunteer to help with this activity, you will be put in close contact with the activity lead coordinator who will provide final detailed instructions, to include the date and time. Please know that some schedule flexibility is needed between June 10-13.
