Other Info: The Tennessee Valley Canoe Club will host its next wilderness first aid program soon. Taught by Carl Schoonover, this 16-hour course will help you prepare for the unexpected in a remote setting. Carl Schoonover is a Health & Safety Institute certified instructor who brings years of teaching and practical experience. Participants will learn how to take care of people who become sick or injured through hands-on scenarios, classroom lectures, and activities. CPR is an available add-on. CPR/AED will be offered on the first night of training. Successful completion of this course will provide a two-year Wilderness First Aid certification from the Health & Safety Institute. Successful completion of the CPR/AED course will provide a two-year Adult CPR/AED certification from the Health & Safety Institute. The course will be taught at Ocoee River Experience. Age Requirement: All students must be at least 14 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Cancelation: If you cancel your registration after the registration deadline (April 22), you will only receive $30 of your refund because there is an administrative fee for setting up the class.
What to Bring: Wear proper clothing, rain gear, notepad, pen/pencil, water, food (optional). There will be a lunch break, and Ocoee River Experience has a restaurant onsite.

This event is available to all TVCC members in good standing. This will NOT be open for One Time Guests. If you are new to TVCC then we would love for you to join us on this event. You must register online. Walk-ons will not be allowed. No exceptions.
You may not attempt to register before registration opens.
Contacting the instructor/trip leader or any TVCC board member directly does not count as registering for the event.
Registration is a first come, first serve basis. Moving registrants from the waitlist is a first come, first serve basis. You may not use your registration to hold a spot for a different individual.
Drug and alcohol use will not be permitted before or during the event.
